The people behind the catch.

For more than 25 years, one family has chased the same goal — to serve Lisbon the finest seafood the Atlantic will give.

Est. 1998

Our Beginning

A small counter, a big idea.

Copo de Mar — “a glass of the sea” — opened on a quiet corner of Avenidas Novas with eight stools, one charcoal grill and a name written by hand. Our grandfather sourced everything himself, before sunrise, at the Lisbon docks.

The restaurant grew, but the ritual never changed. We still buy whole. We still buy daily. And we still believe the sea should arrive on your plate exactly as honest as it left the boat.

From Atlantic to Table

Four steps. No shortcuts.

Most seafood travels for days. Ours travels for hours. Here is the short, deliberate chain that keeps every plate at its peak.

01

The Dawn Auction

Our buyer is at the dockside market by 5am, choosing whole fish and shellfish by eye, gill and smell — never from a list.

02

Straight to the Kitchen

The catch reaches our prep table the same morning. What isn’t perfect goes back. What is, defines today’s menu.

03

Cooked to Order

Nothing is pre-cooked or held. Fish hits the charcoal only once your table is seated and your wine is poured.

04

Served at its Peak

From sea to plate in under a day — the simple reason our seafood tastes the way Lisbon remembers it should.

What We Stand For

Three things we refuse to compromise.

01

Daily, never frozen

If the boats don’t bring it, we don’t serve it. Our menu changes with the tide, not with a supplier’s calendar.

02

Sourced responsibly

We work with Portuguese small-boat fishermen and respect seasons and quotas, so the coast we love stays generous.

03

Hospitality, the Lisbon way

Warm, unhurried and genuine. You are a guest in our home first, a customer second — every single visit.
